DAY1 – Arrival in Guwahati. Transfer from Guwahati to Shillong
You will be received at the Guwahati airport and taken to Shillong. Enjoy the ride as you pass through the picturesque route to the ‘Scotland of the East’. On the way, you will be stopping by to look at the biggest man made lake in the North East, the Umiam Lake. On reaching Shillong you will be checked into the hotel. You can spend the day visiting nearby places or exploring the local markets. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 2 – Shillong To Cherrapunji (54 km/ 1hour 40 mins)
After a filling breakfast this morning, you will leave for an excursion to Cherrapunji as included in Assam Meghalaya tour package At the end of a scenic drive, you will arrive at the pleasantly beautiful Cherrapunji, the once wettest place on earth in terms of rainfall. On this day, you will visit many famous attractions of Cherrapunji, including the Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, the Mawsmai Caves, and the Arwah caves. Check-in to the homestay/hotel for the day, with the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight in Cherrapunji.
Day 3 – Cherrapunji to Nongrihat Trek/Sightseeing and back to Shillong
After breakfast this morning, you will go for an amazing trek in the hills of Meghalaya to arrive at the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge, which is considered to be about 500 years old. After the trek, visit local Church, markets and local shops in Cherrapunji before you start the return journey to Shillong. Overnight in Shillong.
Day 4 – Shillong to Dawki and Mawlynnong
After breakfast this morning, leave for an excursion of the 2 beautiful places of Meghalaya. As per the Assam Meghalaya tour package you will first be heading towards the famous Mawlynnong, known to be the cleanest village in Asia. On the way to the village, you will get an amazing view of the Shillong Plateau. Spend some time in the amazing beauty of the place before moving on to see the amazing living root bridges near the village. From here. you will be driving to see the crystal clear Umngot river of Dawki village on the border of India and Bangladesh. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride (optional) on the crystal clear water of the Umngot River and cross the Dawki Bridge (1932 India- Bangladesh suspension bridge). Overnight at homestay/hotel in Mawlynnong
Day 5 – Mawlynnong – Mawphlang – Shillong
After breakfast, you will be driving to Shillong. On the way, however, you will be stopping by at Mawphlang which is a great place for all nature lovers to be. Visit the Sacred Grove, the Elephant falls, and the Shillong Peak, which is the highest point of the state.
From here, you will visit attractions like Lady Hydari Park, All Saints Church, the Cathedral in Laitumkhrah, Shillong Golf Links and the Don Bosco Museum. Overnight at Shillong.
Day 6 – Transfer to Guwahati and Departure.
Check-out of your accommodation after breakfast and you will be then aken to the Guwahati Airport. Conclude the six-day tour and embark on your onward journey, bringing the experience to an end.
